Originally from Rhinebeck, New York and now living in Brooklyn, Leighanne Saltsman has created her own milieu for social change through her passion for music.

Rooted in the study and practice of singing jazz, folk, western sacred and classical music; nurtured by an in-depth exploration of grassroots music marketing and life-long research on the evolution of traditional performance venues nationwide; and inspired by both contemporary musicology writings and a desire to engender better practices of biological and spiritual stewardship, Leighanne is re-imagining the synthetic framework the economics of music have been confined to for the past century and is now working toward a new gift economy of sound.

Through her words, music, and her work bringing “like-minded” spirits into the commercial classical management echelon via her position at a respected music management firm, she paints an accessible, sustainable, community-oriented future based on classic Americana traditions that will hopefully inspire the modern human spirit to reach out to other “like-minded” spirits and find a place to flourish. This project is called “Rooms of Joy”.

Leighanne is former professional choral singer, and has performed hundreds of concerts with a diverse roster of musicians from the NYC premier of Paul McCartny’s second work for chorus and orchestra at Carnegie Hall to shapenote sings in rural Ohio. Leighanne currently strives to create inspiring sounds by blending blues, jazz, folk and classical into evenings that leave listeners smiling.

Leighanne firmly believes that if a person can fully appreciate their physical belongings, they will be less likely to accumulate more “stuff”. To that end, home staging can lead not only to a quick sale – it can also revitalize your love for the space in which you dwell and help you live a greener, more sustainable life by helping you cut down on the amount of “stuff” you buy. Visit peacefulhouse to learn more.

Managing your career is hard work, and don’t let anyone tell you different. Between writing press releases, shipping merch, updating your website and booking gigs, you barely have time to practice, much less develop a clear overview of what will become your livlihood.

Or maybe you’re just starting out, and need a roadmap to becoming a working musician.

Whether you need a checkup to make sure goals are being met in the most efficient way or are merely in need of a tutorial on how best to manage your data, merch needs, promo needs and website needs, a one-on-one session is the way to go. From recommending marketing technology to telling you how much a publicist is really worth, Leighanne brings six years of professional music management experience to the table.
